HARRIET POWER

is a professional director from Philadelphia and a professor of theatre at Villanova University.
In February 2004 she directed DINNER WITH FRIENDS, the first Ford Entertainment production to be staged at L'Arciliuto Teatro, while living in Rome for a year with her husband and son, Bob and Matt Hedley. In the U.S., favorite productions she has directed include ANGELS IN AMERICA (for which she won the Barrymore "Best Director"
award), A MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN and MEASURE FOR MEASURE (both Barrymore "Best Director" finalists), MAD FOREST ("Best Director, 1994" critics award), UNCLE VANYA, ART, RACING DEMON, RECKLESS, FIRES IN THE MIRROR, and THE GIGLI CONCERT.
She served as Artistic Director of Venture Theatre from 1995-1998. She has also directed in California, Belgium, Ireland, and for the Iowa Playwrights Festival.
